NoteBurner should works simultaneously with the media player in order to convert audio files. You should set NoteBurner as the default CD burner for iTunes (WMP, RealPlayer, etc.), and run NoteBurner at the same time. When the media player finishes burning playlist, NoteBurner continues to encode all files to the target format.
If you have done this without success, you may reinstall Noteburner to solve the problem following these steps:
Windows XP users will find the folder at
C:\Documents and Settings\******\My Documents\My Music\NoteBurner
Vista users can find the folder at
C:\Users\******\Music\NoteBurner (Please replace ****** with your computer username.)
First of all, please make sure that NoteBurner is running at the same time with your media player.
iTunes music user please note that the same iTunes playlist cannot be burned more than 7 times. Some protected music can only be burned once or more, depending on the policies of the digital music providers.
NoteBurner simulates real CD burning and ripping, except that it stores the "burned" files to your local computer. NoteBurner obeys Digital Right Management rules. It does not crack DRM protection. So you must make sure that you have the right to access the copyrighted music while trying to convert them with NoteBurner. That means you must purchase the music or get authorized by other agency or person to use the music.
For more information about playing DRM music and managing DRM protected music files, you can read these articles online:
Currently, NoteBurner does not feature CD grabbing, whether it's protected CDs or common CDs.
The main function of NoteBurner is converting audio files between different formats. It does not function physical burning. That means it does not burn any real CD.
Once your convert the music into MP3, WMA or WAV, you can copy them into your portable devices, like MP3 player and mobile phones, or burn them onto CD using Nero or other burning tools.
The standard Blank Disc or CD-R can hold up to 74 or 80 minutes of audio burned in .CDA format. Only CD's burned in .CDA format are playable in the standard CD Players found in cars and homes today. Audible titles and other programs that are longer than 74 minutes will require multiple CDs to burn the entire length of the title. Even though the downloaded file sizes vary depending on the format they were downloaded in, the number of CDs required will depend only on the length of the book, not the file size.
For instance, if you are burning a title that is about 10 hours long, it will require between 10 and 11 CDs.
Since NoteBurner utilizes virtual CD-R burning mechanism to convert audio files between different format, it will convert longer audiobooks into several discs, that means one hours long audiobook will be converted into several separated files.
It is recommended that you burn Audible content at lower burn speeds. The lower the burn speed the smaller the possibility that there are errors in the burn process. The higher the burn speed the more the possibility of the audio having skips, stutters, or gaps in the audio.
iTunes users can change the burn speed. In iTunes, select the Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Burning, change the Preferred Speed from Maximum to a slower option.
For the best quality recording, we recommend downloading Audible content in format 4. For dial-up users, we recommend using format 2 or to record CD's. Format 1 is not supported by iTunes.
Note: If MP3 CD or Data CD is selected, you will receive an error message when attempting to burn Audible content.
The converted files are stored in the output folder. Click the Folder button on the manager window of NoteBurner will take you to the output folder.
Find out why you have problem installing or using NoteBurner, read the System Requirements.

Napster music store offers a subscription-based approach to DRM alongside permanent purchases. Napster charges users who wish to use the music on their portable device an additional $5 per month. In addition, Napster gives users the option of paying an additional $0.99 per track to burn it to CD or for the song to never expire. Music bought through Napster can be played on players carrying the Microsoft PlaysForSure logo (which, notably, do not include iPods or even Microsoft's own Zune).
If you want to convert the Napster DRM music you purchased to MP3, you may have to pay additional $0.99 per track. And you can use Windows Media Player 10 or any other media player that can playback the music. The media player should also allow you to choose NoteBurner virtual CD-R as the CD burner.
