Solution to the "NoteBurner stops working in Vista" problem
Symptoms
If you are Vista users, when you run NoteBurner Audio Converter for the first time, possibility is that the program stops working, and you got this message:

Systems Affected
Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate, Vista Business (Windows XP SP2 users please refer to this solution)
Why
It's not unusual to see many programs stop working in Vista systems. The problem is caused by DEP, or Data Execution Prevention. DEP is a security feature that helps prevent damage from viruses and other security threats by monitoring your programs to make sure they use system memory safely. However, DEP will block many goodwares from starting up by mistake.
Solution
The solution to the problem? Turn it off. Even if you choose to protect all programs, you can still turn off DEP for individual programs. In this case, turn off DEP for NoteBurner. Following is the step-by-step how-to:
1. On the desktop of you computer, right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties from the pop-up menu.
Or, you can click the Start button on desktop, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and click System.

2. Click Advanced System Settings. Administrator permission required if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

4. Now you are prompted to the Performance Options dialogue box. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then select the option Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select. NoteBurner is not listed, well, click the Add... button to add NoteBurner to the list.

5. Browse to the Program Files > NoteBurner folder, find the executable file VTBurnerGUI (it will have an .exe file extension) , and then click Open.
