iPod Shuffle and DRM protected music
The iPod Shuffle is a digital audio player designed and marketed by Apple Inc (as iPod shuffle). It is the budget model in Apple's iPod family.
unlike the other iPod MP3 player, this application is screenless, very small, known as "the most wearable iPod ever". Thanks to a built-in clip, iPod shuffle goes with anything.Clip it to your sleeve, lapel, coin pocket.
It lacks the trademark display, scroll wheel, playlist management features, games, address book, calendar, and notes capability of earlier iPods, and cannot be used with iSync. In addition, due to its lower processing power, it is incapable of playing Apple Lossless and AIFF audio files, unlike other iPod models. The iPod Shuffle has a better bass response than 4th generation iPod. The first generation shuffle weighed 0.78 ounces.
The iPod Shuffle can also be used as a USB flash drive. iTunes allows a user to set how much of the drive will be allowed for storing files, and how much will be used for storing music.
The second generation shuffle can play MP3, MP3 VBR, AAC, Protected AAC, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), WAV and AIFF, meaning that the only iTunes format not supported is Apple Lossless.
Note that using WAV or AIFF on a 1GB device will mean very few songs may be held. iPod Shuffle cannot play music from music video files, which by some users is unexpected (and if they based their iTunes library on music videos they have to purchase music files on top of that).
iTunes introduced the iTunes Music Store (later renamed to the iTunes Store) from which iTunes users can buy and download songs for use on a limited number of computers and an unlimited number of iPods. Many songs purchased from the iTunes Store are copy protected with Apple's FairPlay digital rights management (DRM) system
There are many methods to bypass DRM control on audio and video content. One simple method to bypass DRM on audio files is to burn the content to an audio CD and then rip it into DRM-free files. This is only possible when the software that plays these DRM-restricted audio files allows CD-burning. Some software products simplify and automate this burn-rip process by allowing the user to burn music to a CD-RW disc or to a Virtual CD-R drive, then automatically ripping and encoding the music, and automatically repeating this process until all selected music has been converted, rather than forcing the user to do this one CD (72-80 minutes' worth of music) at a time.
Free your iPod shuffle music on any other device
NoteBurner is a program that can be used to convert music files, MP3 downloads or even iTunes Music Store songs to other, more compatible formats. It operates a little differently than the other products because it is a virtual CD burner. It must be used in conjunction with a media player that can burn CDs because it makes the media player ¡°burn¡± the song as a file on the hard drive instead of onto a real CD.
But the thing that really makes NoteBurner useful, and bumped it up to the top of the list, is its ability to convert DRM protected music files into regular MP3 files. This is a perfect solution for people who purchase their music online but have compatibility issues with their MP3 player.
With NoteBurner Audio Converter, you can convert you iPod shuffle music or iTune purchased music to mp3,WMV and wma that is playable on any other device!
