What is DRM

DRM is short for Digital Rights Managements. Most of iTunes music are M4P files with DRM protection. DRM is a generic term that refers to access control technologies used by hardware manufacturers, publishers and copyright holders to limit usage of digital media or devices. Napster and Rhapsody are selling DRM protected WMA, Sony and Wal-Mart used to sell DRM protected WMA files though currently they have changed to sell DRM-free songs.
